All businesses entering the awards must be based within the administrative boundaries of Somerset or one of the following North Somerset postcodes;
BA3, BS21, 22, 23, 24, 39, 40, 49
While the awards are predominantly for companies within the above boundaries we are keen not to discourage quality entries from within the historic boundaries of Somerset.
The business should have its Head Office within the defined eligible area set out above. If this is not the case, the entry MUST demonstrate that the enterprise has local autonomy over business planning, marketing, HR and budget.
How do I enter?
Simple! All you need to do is to complete the online entry form, making sure that you understand the criteria for the category/ies that you wish to enter and also that you have read thoroughly the supporting statement that will detail what the judges are looking for from the entries that are received.

*Enter a statement of up to 800 words explaining why a business merits the award
*Highlight up to 6 key points selling the company to the judges
*Attach up to 5 pieces of evidence to support your application - Attachments can be up to a maximum of 2MB each.
*Attach the company logo
Can I enter my business into more than one category?
Yes, you can enter your business into as many categories as you like, providing the category is appropriate and that you can provide the required evidence as detailed in the category criteria to support your entry.
What will it cost me?
It is free to enter the Awards, apart for your time.
How much time do I have to complete my entry?
Entries open on the 1st June and close at 12.00 on the 21st August.
Can I send samples of my product?
Although corporate gifts are appreciated, these are not encouraged and will not count towards an organisation’s entry in the awards.
When will I know if I have been successful?
The initial shortlisting process will take place between 22nd - 31st August, after which time you will be notified if you have made it through to the next stage.
Judges visits will take place between the 1st - 22nd September.
Final judges meeting will take place on the 25th September when judges will give careful consideration to all the entries received. You will then be notified if you have or have not been successful in reaching the next stages.
Will I be visited by a judge?
If your entry passes the first short listing process, you will be contacted by one of the judges who will make an appointment to come out and visit you at your company premises to see first hand what the business is all about.
The visits will take place between 2nd - 23rd September.
I’ve made the final shortlist – what next?
If you are successful in making the final short list you will automatically be invited along to the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Friday 20th October 2017 at Wellsprings Leisure Centre, Taunton. You will receive two free tickets and further tickets are available to be purchased at a cost of £65 + VAT.
You will also be visited by students of Bridgwater & Taunton College to produce a short 30 second film to be shown on the awards evening.

When can I buy tickets for the awards ceremony?
Tickets for the awards go on sale in two different stages:
The first is pre-sale for finalists only, this will take place between the 28th - 30th September.
The next for the general public opens on 2nd October.
