Returning for its 12th year, The Somerset Business Awards will launch at the Mount Somerset Hotel in Taunton this month.
On Thursday 9th June 2016, a lunchtime launch event featuring a ‘How to Enter’ briefing, will take place. The event provides an excellent opportunity for Somerset businesses to be taken through the Awards process and to see how previous winning businesses have maximised their Award win. Many of the sponsors and judges will be present at the event to answer any questions potential entrants may have.
The annual Awards ceremony, which takes place on Friday 21st October 2016, celebrates excellence in Somerset business and is one of the most important dates in any local business calendar. Historically, winners of a Somerset Business Award go on to achieve bigger and better things, reporting an increase in brand awareness and sales, as a direct result of their win.
Jonathan Jones-Pratt, of Crosville Motor Services Ltd – the winner of the Skills for Growth award in 2015 – comments, “We recognise it is critical to invest in people and to win a prestigious, local award is something to be proud of. Winning has been a company milestone for Crosville Motor Services, bringing the business to life in Somerset and without our staff, we wouldn’t be here.”
Businesses from all sectors, of varying shapes and sizes, can enter the Somerset Business Awards free of charge and enter as many categories as they wish. This year there are 14 award categories, sponsored by a variety of exceptional local businesses, including Albert Goodman as the main sponsor for the sixth consecutive year.
Richard Bugler, newly appointed Managing Partner at Albert Goodman, comments on their continuing sponsorship of the Awards, “We are once again delighted to be sponsoring the Somerset Business Awards. The recognition for Somerset business from the Awards gives such great benefit and inspiration to the short-listed and winning companies. As main sponsor, we are committed to the development and success of local family businesses and share the common themes shown by winning entrants with a “can do” attitude and a passion for business.”
The Awards will officially open for entries on 1st June 2016 (launching on 9th June) and will close on Monday 22nd August 2016, at midday. For entry details and to apply online (from 1st June), please visit: www.somersetbusinessawards.org.uk.
