Somerset Business Awards 2013 is set to be biggest ever
Having earned its reputation as the most prestigious date in any business person’s diary, the Somerset Business Awards annually recognise and celebrate outstanding business success – and 2013 is certainly no different!
Judges currently have the mammoth task of going through nearly 120 entries and short-listing the best businesses in each category. Despite the difficult economic climate, the judges are incredibly impressed with the positive attitude and determination presented by each award entry.
Sue Higgins, Events Manager of Somerset Chamber of Commerce – organisers of the Somerset Business Awards – comments on the entries this year, “The Awards, which are now in their ninth year, have grown considerably since first established. We are delighted, yet not surprised, with the number and sheer quality of entries this year. The bar is now set very high and the judges have tough decisions about which companies to shortlist.”
The Somerset Business Awards, which this year saw its highest number of entries to date, received applications from every corner of the county. Of the businesses that entered, over 40 companies have entered the Somerset Business Awards for the first time ever.
During the first week of October, all entrants will have found out whether their applications have been successfully short-listed and whether they will make it to the glamorous awards ceremony – which is set to be the largest Somerset Business Awards yet, with more than 350 guests attending on the night.
The Somerset Business Awards 2013 will be presented at the newly refurbished Westland Conference and Leisure Complex in Yeovil, on 24 October 2013. 42 businesses will attend the dinner – all hoping to win a prestigious and highly sort after accolade.
Head of Family Business and Partner at Albert Goodman – main sponsor of the Somerset Business Awards – Paul Hake, says, “Winning a Somerset Business Award is a highly impressive achievement and the celebratory evening is a key date in Somerset’s business calendar. The entries received this year have been outstanding and we wish all businesses that have entered the best of luck!”
