The Rebuild and Thrive Award recognised those businesses who, despite some of the most challenging business conditions ever, have reinvented their offering and been rewarded with a successful business, fit to take on the post-pandemic business landscape.
Entries will be able to demonstrate their response to adversity, whether it be COVID, Brexit or other issues that have affected the business. You will have created a plan demonstrating a clear idea of how to rebuild or change the business, to recover and thrive and will be able to demonstrate how you and thriving and moving towards a brighter future.

Nick Porter is Regional Manager for Business Banking in Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire. He also leads the Barclays pilot programme for Taunton Deane “Rebuilding Thriving Local Economies”.
Nick has been involved with businesses for nearly 30 years and during this period has seen a talent model he designed recognised as international best practice for business.
Nick is Family Business accredited, an NLP Practitioner, Lean Sigma Trainer Trained and regularly mentors people both within and outside Barclays. He grew up in Somerset and is proud to have returned to his roots over 8 years ago to work with Somerset businesses.
Barclays has launched its new economic growth initiative for rural communities in Taunton Deane, Somerset.
Taunton Deane has been chosen as the bank’s third local economy pilot location as part of its study into different types of communities. Barclays will join forces with local leaders in the heart of the area across government, business and education to identify how to boost the local economy through a landmark study and over a three-year period, introduce bespoke programmes and support to help local businesses to grow and give people the skills the area needs to thrive.
